Eight players can all be human, and each one starts with a different faction, from Castle to Necropolis, arranged into three teams. The author's description suggests dark times, an approaching war between two worlds, and mercenaries waiting for a weakness to strike, asking who will prevail and whether the fighting happens below ground or on the surface. Water covers about 31 percent of the terrain, with rock and rough ground making up much of the rest. The map holds 34 towns, 11 heroes, 72 mines, and the Grail, along with artifacts such as the Crown of the Supreme Magi. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes.
