Eight players share the map, with up to four human seats and the rest computer-controlled, split into two teams. The pink lord is the king who must survive, while three other lords are traitors to be defeated. The remaining lords are allies who can reveal territory but may also steal artifacts. Factions include Necropolis, Castle, Rampart, Stronghold and Tower. Victory requires transporting a specific artifact, and losing a particular hero ends the game. Subterranean ground covers much of the map, with water at about sixteen percent. Dragon Flies and Serpent Flies roam in large numbers, and the Grail and Armageddon's Blade are among the placed artifacts.
