Knotty Quest — SoD

Knotty Quest is a medium, 72 by 72 surface map for Shadow of Death, played on Impossible difficulty. The author describes it as a puzzle map built around cryptic riddles and a cosmic, otherworldly theme. Four players start the game, but only one can be human, with Blue, Tan and Pink controlled by the computer. There are no teams. Red and Blue play Fortress, Tan plays Necropolis, and Pink mixes Castle and Fortress. Victory requires acquiring one specific artifact, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers about 42 percent of the land, water about 40 percent, and grass 8 percent. The map holds 8 towns, 11 heroes capped at level 1, 24 monoliths and portals, 27 quest guards and 10 seer huts. Serpent Flies and Dragon Flies roam in large numbers, and fifteen artifacts are scattered across the map.
