Kappatol is a small 36 by 36 map for Horn of the Abyss, built for three players with only one human seat, so the Red and Tan colors are controlled by the computer. There are no teams, and the Inferno, Stronghold and Tower factions are in play. The author describes a financial crisis and a new finance minister trying to repair a broken economy, though the map's own goal is different: the human player must upgrade a specific town before time runs out, with the loss condition set at 21 days. The surface is mostly rough and dirt ground, with swamp and snow, and very little water. Wandering stacks include Cerberus, Gold Dragons and Griffins, and the map holds thirteen placed artifacts, including the Shield of the Dwarven Lords and the Talisman of Mana. Expect the Expert difficulty level to matter, with hero level capped at 14.
