Island of Gold is a medium 72x72 Heroes of Might and Magic III map for Armageddon's Blade, offered with an underground level and rated Hard. It supports five players, with up to three controlled by humans, and the remaining two colors, Orange and Purple, are computer-only. Players are grouped into four teams. Red, Blue and Green receive random factions, Orange plays Stronghold and Purple plays Necropolis. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The land is mostly rock and grass, with water covering about a fifth of the surface and lava making up a smaller share. Seven towns, 37 mines, 11 creature banks, and 134 random monster stacks are spread across it. The map also holds the Grail, several gold-themed artifacts, and 18 random artifacts.
