Invasion of the Mamai is an extra large surface map for Shadow of Death, measuring 144 by 144 and set at Normal difficulty. The author describes Mamai leading his army against the Russian lands to seize Moscow and take Prince Dmitry captive, with a burial mound as the only remaining reminder of that battle. Eight players are placed, but only one can be human, and the other seven are computer-controlled. No teams are set. Factions include Fortress, Castle and Stronghold. Victory requires capturing a specific town, and defeat comes from losing a specific hero. Rough, snow, sand and lava terrain cover most of the map, with about nine percent water. Notable features include the Grail, 101 mines, and several endless gold artifacts.
