Empire in Ashes is a giant underground map for Horn of the Abyss 1.7.0 or later, set during a civil war that splits the Andred Empire in two, twenty years after a cult devoted to the Ash Lord first appeared. Six players share the 252 by 252 board in four teams, with up to three controlled by humans and Green, Orange, and Purple run by the computer. The factions are Castle, Cove, Stronghold, Dungeon, and Necropolis, and the difficulty is easy. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers 48 percent of the terrain and water 28 percent. Notable finds include the Grail, 53 mines, 89 creature banks, and 21 monoliths and portals.
