Hopkins Map is an extra large underground map for the Shadow of Death version, measuring 144 by 144 tiles and rated hard. Eight players each control one of the eight factions, from Castle and Tower to Necropolis and Stronghold, and all eight slots can be filled by humans. No teams are set up. Rock covers about a third of the map and water about a fifth, with grass and snow each taking roughly a tenth. The map holds 17 towns, 20 heroes, 101 mines, 16 monoliths and portals, and 20 creature banks, along with artifacts such as the Amulet of the Undertaker and the Cape of Velocity. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The author's description advises reading it before starting.
