Heroic — RoE

Heroic is an Extra Large map measuring 144 by 144 tiles, with an underground level, and it is rated Impossible. The author's description imagines a brief age between the extinction of the dinosaurs and the rise of mammals, a world of mighty heroes and unusual creatures. Eight players can take part, all of them human if desired, with no teams and no computer-only colors. Each player controls one faction: Inferno, Castle, Necropolis, Rampart, Stronghold, Dungeon, Fortress, or Tower. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Water covers about a third of the map, with rock, subterranean, and lava areas making up much of the rest. The map contains 41 towns, 19 heroes, and several wandering monster groups, including Cerberus stacks, along with placed artifacts such as the Orb of Vulnerability.
