Flame is a large, surface-only Heroes of Might and Magic III map measuring 108 by 108 tiles and rated Impossible. It supports seven players, with up to three human participants and four computer-only colors, arranged into six teams. The factions in play are Inferno, Necropolis, Stronghold, Castle, Conflux, Tower and Fortress. Three heroes set out to earn the favour of Lady Flame across a long route full of obstacles. Victory requires defeating one specific hero, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The terrain is mostly lava, rough ground, grass and snow, with a little water. Notable features include 42 towns, 110 mines and the Grail, along with wandering Efreet Sultans and Black Knights and artifacts such as Armageddon's Blade. The author advises players under sixteen to skip the map.
