Far neighbours — RoE
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Far Neighbours is a large 108 by 108 underground-enabled map for four players, with no computer-only colors and no teams, so all four seats can be human. Each player starts with a random faction, and the goal is to defeat every enemy, while a player is eliminated once they lose all towns and heroes. The map is split mostly into subterranean ground at about 40 percent, with grass around 30 percent, water near 20 percent, and rock about 10 percent. The author stresses that although opponents are visible from the start, much exploration is needed to gather resources before any fighting, and that coordinating between the surface and underground is essential. The world holds 24 towns, 141 mines, 218 randomly placed artifacts, 295 wandering monster stacks, and four monoliths or portals.
