Faces of Death is an Armageddon's Blade map on an extra large 144 by 144 board with an underground level, rated expert. Its setting opens on a rocky shore, with a gloomy, shadowed valley lying ahead. Seven players compete without teams, and all seven slots can be human: Conflux appears twice, alongside Tower, Necropolis, Inferno, Stronghold and Castle. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes. The land is mostly rock, water, grass and sand, with 46 towns, 131 mines and 20 monoliths and portals. Wandering Skeleton Warriors and Gogs roam the terrain, and artifacts such as the Boots of Speed and the Helm of the Alabaster Unicorn are placed across the map.
