Expanses of Water — HotA 1.8.0

Expanses of Water is a two-player map of 72 by 72 tiles on the surface level, with nearly all of it covered by sea, roughly 96 percent. Two captains each hold an island and both play the Cove faction, with no teams and no computer-only colors. The win condition is to defeat all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Across the waters, wandering nymphs are the most common encounter, with crew mates, oceanids, and stormbirds also roaming. Each side can find mines, a seer hut, two creature banks, a pair of monoliths and portals, and several placed artifacts, including the Trident of Dominion and the Crown of the Five Seas. Three timed events add pressure to the contest.
