Elements (SoD) is a large, expert-level Shadow of Death map of 108 by 108 tiles with an underground level. It is built around the four elements of fire, ice, earth, and air, and its description frames a contest to find the best of them, culminating in a ruler called the King of Elements, whose defeat wins the game. Five players share the map, with four slots open to humans and Orange reserved for the computer. There are no teams. Inferno, Castle, Necropolis, Dungeon, and Tower are represented, one per player. Victory requires capturing a specific town, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers about 40 percent of the terrain and water about 28 percent. Elemental stacks wander the map, and the seven towns, 36 mines, and 10 monoliths and portals shape how the players move across it.
