Eight Kingdoms is an extra large underground map for eight players, each ruling a kingdom in a region that is about to be thrown into war. Every player controls one of the eight factions, from Castle through Pink's Inferno, and all eight can be human, though there are no teams and no computer-only colors. Victory comes from defeating every enemy, and a player is eliminated once all their towns and heroes are lost. The map is set on a 144 by 144 grid, mostly rock and grass with some water and subterranean ground. It holds 26 towns, 74 mines, 64 random artifacts, a Grail, and a Vial of Dragon Blood, along with dragons and other wandering monsters roaming the terrain.
