Seven players take part, with up to three human players and four computer-only colors, arranged into six teams. Red picks its faction at random, while the others field Inferno, Castle, Rampart, Tower, Conflux, or Necropolis. About two-thirds of the surface is water, with grass and swamp covering most of the rest. Victory requires defeating a specific hero, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map holds 39 towns, 72 mines, and the Grail, along with placed artifacts such as Armageddon's Blade. Sea Serpents and Crystal Dragons are among the wandering monsters. The author frames the setting as a visit to an eccentric old wizard.
