Death Celebrates is an extra-large 144 by 144 Shadow of Death map with both surface and underground levels, and about half its terrain is subterranean. Five players start, but Purple is computer-only, so up to four humans can take part. There are no teams, and the difficulty is Hard. Most players lead Castle, Rampart, Tower, Inferno, Dungeon, Stronghold or Fortress towns, while Purple fields Necropolis. Victory requires carrying a specific artifact, the Holy Grail, to a set destination, and a player is defeated after losing all towns and heroes. Wandering Titans, Archangels and dragons roam the land, and Titan's Thunder and the Necklace of Dragonteeth are among the placed artifacts. A timed event also adds pressure.
