Darkmaker is an extra large two-level map of 144 by 144 tiles, set for Shadow of Death and played at Impossible difficulty. Eight colors are placed, with seven slots open to human players and Pink reserved for the computer. There are no fixed teams, and the factions are Castle, Tower, Conflux, Rampart, Inferno, Dungeon and Necropolis, with the Orange side assigned at random. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses once every town and hero is gone. Rock covers a large share of the land, and water fills about a quarter of it. The author warns of many artifacts and strong level 7 creatures guarding the treasuries. Among the notable finds are the Grail, fifteen named artifacts, and dwellings holding Azure Dragons, Crystal Dragons, Faerie Dragons and Sharpshooters.
