Dark & Light — SoD

Dark & Light is a two-player medium map on a 72 by 72 tile board with an underground level, rated Impossible difficulty. The author's description frames it as the aftermath of a clash between gods of light and darkness, which left the unfinished fight to mortals. Red plays Castle and Rampart against Blue's Necropolis and Stronghold, with no teams and both sides held by humans. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Rock covers about 37 percent of the ground, with subterranean terrain, grass and dirt making up much of the rest, and water about 7 percent. Notable features include 12 towns, 4 starting heroes capped at level 10, 20 random artifacts, and several placed artifacts such as the Shield of the Damned.
