Crusade is an extra-large map for Shadow of Death, set in the Middle Ages, where a European king leads a campaign to Jerusalem to liberate the city and bring back holy water and other treasures. The 144 by 144 map includes underground levels and is rated Expert. Rock covers about half of its area, with grass and water making up most of the rest. Eight players can take part, with up to six human seats. Most players are Castle, while Tan is Necropolis and Green is Inferno, and both of those colors are computer-only. There are no teams. Victory comes from accumulating creatures, and a player is defeated after losing all towns and heroes. The map has 33 towns, nine starting heroes, 32 mines, and placed artifacts such as the Sword of Judgement.
