Cross-country race — SoD

A small 36 by 36 single-player map set partly underground, played on the Impossible difficulty with one human hero and no computer opponents or teams. The hero leads an Inferno army, and the goal is to build a Grail structure before the fourteen-day limit runs out. Grassland covers about half the terrain, with water, swamp and sand making up much of the rest. The map has three towns, two mines, and two seer huts with quest guards. Along the way the hero can meet several wandering stacks, including dragons, angels and an Archangel, as well as dwellings holding demons, hell hounds and a Pit Fiend. Notable placed artifacts include Armageddon's Blade, the Spellbinder's Hat and a Wizard's Well, and the Grail itself is hidden somewhere on the map. Fourteen monoliths and portals and four timed events shape how the hero moves across the land.
