ClanBuds is a medium-sized underground map measuring 72 by 72, built for the Restoration of Erathia version and rated Hard. Four players can take part, all of them human-controllable, split into two teams, with every faction chosen at random. The win condition is to defeat all enemies, and a player loses once all of their towns and heroes are gone. Rock covers about 42 percent of the terrain, with grass, dirt and water making up most of the rest. The map holds eight towns, a large spread of wandering monsters including Diamond Golems, Black Dragons and Gold Dragons, and a range of placed artifacts such as the Sphere of Permanence and the Sword of Judgement. Mines, seer huts, creature banks and monoliths and portals are scattered across the underground.
