It imagines the last Dunedain king, Arvedui, claiming Gondor and defeating the Witch-King. Five players share three teams, with at most two human, while Red, Tan and Teal are computer-only. The factions are Castle, Tower, Stronghold, Necropolis and Rampart. Victory means capturing one specific town, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes. Rock and grass dominate the terrain, with water covering about a tenth. Seven towns, twelve heroes, 46 mines and 82 random monster stacks fill the land, alongside twelve placed artifacts such as Titan's Cuirass and Angel Wings.
