The Charlatans is a two-player map for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death, set on an extra large 144 by 144 grid with an underground level. It is rated Impossible and allows two human players with no teams and no computer-only colors. Orange and Purple each start with a random faction. Victory comes either by gathering five million gold or by conquering the wider region, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Water covers about 13 percent of the map, with subterranean, sand and swamp terrain making up most of the rest. The map holds ten towns, a Grail, forty-five mines, forty-two seer huts, forty-nine creature banks and twenty monoliths and portals, along with many artifacts and guarded quests.
