Castle of Legend is a medium-sized underground map of 72 by 72 tiles, built for the Restoration of Erathia version and set at Normal difficulty. It supports six players, all of whom can be human, with no teams and no computer-only colours. The factions are Rampart for Red, Castle for Blue, Tower for Tan, Dungeon for Green, and random picks for Purple and Pink. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses when every town and hero is gone. Rough ground covers a large share of the map, with water, rock and grass making up much of the rest. The ten towns are spread across the level, and the map holds 67 mines, 46 randomly placed artifacts, 131 random monster stacks, and several wandering threats such as an Angel, a Ghost Dragon and a Power Lich. Creature banks, seer huts, monoliths and portals add further variety.
