Castaways is a large 108 by 108 map with an underground level, made for Restoration of Erathia. Two heroes, Nagash and Octavia, are washed up on an unfamiliar shore after a shipwreck and must cooperate to survive and tame the hostile land. Eight players share the map in three teams, with up to two human players and six computer-controlled colors. The factions are Inferno, Stronghold, Tower, Dungeon, Rampart, Castle, Necropolis and Fortress. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers about 35 percent of the terrain, with subterranean ground, sand and swamp making up much of the rest. Notable features include 17 towns, 73 mines, roaming Titans and Medusas, and 297 random monster stacks.
