Captive — HotA 1.3.0+

Captive is a small underground map of 36 by 36 tiles, built for Horn of the Abyss 1.3.0 and newer and rated Expert. It pits two computer-controlled players against each other, Red playing Inferno and Teal playing Cove, with one human player allowed and no teams. The story concerns a captured ship's captain and lost cargo, and the aim is to free the captain and recover a specific artifact. Victory requires acquiring that artifact, while a player loses once all their towns and heroes are gone. The terrain is mostly lava and rock, with swamp and water making up the rest. Wandering monsters include pirates, sea dogs, and a sorceress, and the dwellings hold demons, pit fiends, and fire elementals. Scattered across the map are many artifacts, including the Cape of Velocity and the Shield of the Dwarven Lords, along with mines, creature banks, and monoliths.
