Budunia in War — SoD

Budunia in War is a large underground map of 108 by 108 tiles, built for the Shadow of Death version of Heroes of Might and Magic III and rated Expert. Eight players each control a different faction, from Inferno and Stronghold to Necropolis and Tower, and all eight seats can be taken by humans, with no teams and no computer-only colors. Victory requires defeating every enemy, while a player loses once all towns and heroes are gone. Rock covers about 40 percent of the terrain, with subterranean ground, grass and water making up much of the rest. The author describes a bitter quarrel between two lords that spirals into open war. Wandering Evil Eyes and Minotaur Kings are the most common monsters, and the Grail is placed on the map alongside a set of notable artifacts, including the Crown of Dragontooth and the Dragon Scale Armor.
