Without Resources or Land is a small 36 by 36 map with an underground level, set on scattered islands where two-thirds of the surface is water. Eight players can all be human, each leading one of the eight factions from Castle to Inferno, and there are no teams. According to the author, the islands have long been fought over by local tribes, and only one can secure the resources needed to dominate the land. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player is eliminated after losing every town and hero. Walking Dead, Angels and Champions roam the islands, and the map also contains creature banks, timed events and artifacts such as the Ring of the Wayfarer and the Shackles of War.
