The map, whose name translates roughly to "tale," is an extra large 144 by 144 scenario with an underground level and a hard difficulty setting. Three colors compete, with one human player at most and the Blue and Tan colors controlled by the computer. Red plays Castle, Blue plays Inferno, and Tan plays Necropolis, and the players form two teams. Rock covers most of the terrain, with smaller shares of dirt, grass, and sand, and water makes up about six percent. The author's description casts the player as an envoy sent to investigate a land overrun by a powerful, cruel people and their helper. Victory and defeat both hinge on specific heroes. Notable features include ten towns, sixty-six mines, the Grail, and several strong wandering monsters such as Titans and Archangels.
