BALKAN — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Balkan is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for Shadow of Death, with an underground level and a Hard rating. Four players can compete, all of them human if desired, and no teams are set. The factions are Rampart for Red, Stronghold for Blue, Dungeon for Tan, and Castle for Green. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player loses once all towns and heroes are gone. Rock and subterranean ground make up about half the map, with water covering roughly 16 percent and grass 8 percent. Eleven towns and eleven heroes are placed, and the Grail is on the map alongside 46 mines, 31 creature banks, and 24 monoliths and portals. The author's note names several southeastern European countries.
