Balance of Power is a medium 72 by 72 map for eight players, each one controlling a different faction from Necropolis to Inferno, with no teams and no computer-only colors, so all eight seats can be human. It includes an underground level and is set for expert difficulty at 160 percent strength, with the author inviting players to face seven opponents of equal strength in what is expected to be a long game. Water, grass, subterranean ground, and lava make up most of the terrain. Ten towns and eight heroes are placed at the start, with wandering stacks of Chaos Hydras, Thunderbirds, Wyvern Monarchs, and others roaming the land. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes.
