Eight guardians alone know where he hid it, and the search drives the game. Up to eight players can all be human, with no teams. The factions in play are Castle, Tower, Inferno, Rampart, and Dungeon. Nearly half the map is water, and the land holds Chaos Hydras, Red Dragons, and Titans, along with artifacts such as Angel Wings and the Endless Sack of Gold. A side wins by constructing a Grail structure and loses once it has no towns or heroes left.
