Arena of Death is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for In the Wake of Gods, with an underground level and Impossible difficulty. Eight human players can take part, each starting with one of the eight factions: Castle, Stronghold, Rampart, Tower, Fortress, Necropolis, Dungeon, and Inferno. The author describes a four-team division, and victory requires defeating all enemies. A player loses once all towns and heroes are gone. Water covers about 40 percent of the map, with grass at 24 percent, sand at 9 percent, and subterranean ground at 5 percent. Wandering armies include Naga Queens, Wyvern Monarchs, and Titans. The map holds 25 towns, 106 mines, 30 seer huts, and 176 creature banks, along with placed artifacts such as the Boots of Speed.
