In Our Father's Land is a large map of 108 by 108 tiles with underground levels, set at Impossible difficulty. Four players share the field in three teams, and up to two can be human, while the Tan and Green colors are computer-controlled. Red and Blue get random factions, Tan plays Dungeon, and Green plays Stronghold. The story follows two close friends drawn into a new war, who must defend their family lands from invaders and unite against attackers from below. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Water covers about 18 percent of the map, and grass, subterranean and rock terrain make up most of the rest. Notable features include eleven Earth Elemental stacks, 99 mines, and the Grail, which is placed on the map.
