{A Journey to the Unknown} — SoD

A Journey to the Unknown is an extra large map measuring 144 by 144 tiles, with an underground level and an Impossible difficulty setting. Eight players are placed, but only one can be human, and the other seven are computer-controlled and divided into four teams. The factions in play are Tower, Conflux, Necropolis, Stronghold, Inferno, and Dungeon. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while the human player loses if a specific hero is killed. Rock covers about 40 percent of the terrain, with grass, snow, and rough ground making up much of the rest, and water about 7 percent. The map includes 25 towns, 87 mines, 27 monoliths and portals, 14 timed events, and the Grail, and wandering monsters such as Phoenixes and Arch Mages roam the land.
