The author's introduction sets a race against Orange for twelve creature dwellings, offered by the Duke of Majipoor. Victory means flagging every creature dwelling, while losing a specific hero ends the game. Swamp, rock and subterranean ground cover most of the land, with water about 14 percent. Expect 58 mines, 12 creature banks and 10 monoliths and portals.
